Role Description/Criteria

The position
We are seeking an experienced Music Tutor 鈥� Voice, to join our highly experienced and dynamic Music department for an immediate start.聽 Music Tutors report to the Director of Music and are employed on a casual basis.聽 Rate of pay will be in accordance with VMTA rates.聽 Days of work are open to negotiation.聽 Currently 3 hours of work per week available with anticipated growth.聽
Music Tutors are appointed to assist in the provision of instrumental programs, both within the Music curriculum and as part of the School鈥檚 broader Music Program. Music Tutors are responsible for overseeing their individual programs and for the progress of the students they tutor. They have the overarching goal of enabling every student to participate in the musical life of the School to the best of her ability.
Responsibilities of the role will include
- Tutor an allocated list of voice students from beginner to advanced levels (VCE and Diploma)
- Liaise with the Director of Music and the relevant Head of Department in relation to student progress, repertoire, student assessment and performances, ensemble planning and the pastoral needs of students
- Foster a standard of excellence in music performance in examinations, recitals, concerts and other performance activities
- Direct Music Ensembles as required by the Director of Music
- Other duties as outlined in the position description
About You
The successful candidate will be an experienced Voice Music Tutor familiar with AMEB and VCE syllabi.聽 You will have excellent performance skills gained through training or experience in a wide range of musical styles.聽 Your excellent communication and organisational skills coupled with an ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic working environment will be critical to your success in the role.聽 A current WWCC (Employee) is mandatory.聽 VIT accreditation is desirable.聽 Keyboard skills also desirable.聽
