We operate multiple campuses located in North Melbourne, Geelong, Colac, Ballarat, and a dual engagement virtual learning campus, BlendED. The young people we serve often face significant and complex educational, social, developmental, psychological, health, legal, or familial challenges, which demand unique interventions. Our approach is grounded in the Operation by Principles framework, which combines education with an understanding of trauma-informed practices.Ìý

Fitzroy North Campus: The Fitzroy North campus will specifically support young people who encounter challenges with traditional schooling. We are dedicated to fostering an environment that meets the diverse needs of these individuals, including those with mental health concerns and neurodivergence. Unlike our other campuses, which predominantly focus on literacy and numeracy, Fitzroy North will offer the full Victorian Curriculum, providing a more comprehensive educational experience. Our campus will feature intimate class sizes, with classes capped at 15-18 young people to ensure personalised and focused instruction. Additionally, young people will have access to a range of holistic support services, including youth workers, counsellors, psychologists, occupational therapists, and speech therapists. We are committed to creating a flexible and supportive setting that caters to each individual’s needs.Ìý

The Role:Ìý

  • The Coordinator, Education Support and SSG is a full-time ongoing position responsible for coordination of Education Support Workers (Teacher’s Aides) to oversee and enhance education programs and initiatives and organise resources that will assist a young person’s engagement in learning support, and in particular the 7-10 Victorian Curriculum and the VCE Vocational Major with a focus on literacy and numeracy development.
  • This position reports to the Program Director, Teaching and Learning, and works collaboratively with others in coordinating learning support for young people both in academic pursuits and extension activities.Ìý
  • You will be employed on an ongoing basis and will be employed under the Catholic Education Multi Enterprise Agreement 2022.ÌýÌý

You will need:Ìý

  • Ability to commit to and work within our Operating Principles; Respect, Participation, Safe and Legal and Honesty.Ìý
  • Qualifications in teaching, youth work or social work.Ìý
  • Registration with the Victorian Institute of Teaching or;Ìý
  • Ability to obtain a Working with Children Check and provide a National Police Check Certificate (issued within the last six months)Ìý
  • The ability to inspire and engage young people.Ìý
  • Be willing to support young people and our team members to reach their potential.Ìý
