Role Description/Criteria

Applications are invited from suitably qualified and highly motivated teachers who have a passion for Catholic Education and the safety and wellbeing of children. 

Graduate teachers are encouraged to apply.

The following positions are available:

  • Classroom Teacher: Years 1/2
  • Classroom Teacher: Yrs 5/6

Teaching at Good Samaritan requires that you have the capacity to:

  • actively support and promote our Catholic school vision;
  • create nurturing learning environments where children are respected, their voices are heard and they feel safe and are safe.
  • design teaching and learning experiences that are purposeful, engaging and meaningful for every child in your care;
  • communicate effectively with children, colleagues, parents/carers and community members;
  • engage with colleagues in a cycle of continuous inquiry and learning about effective teaching practice.
  • participate in the broader life of the school including, when appropriate, the sacramental program, camps and community events; and
  • behave professionally and ethically in all forums.

To be considered for these positions you must:

  • have an understanding of the ethos of a Catholic school and be committed to its mission;
  • be committed to the safety, wellbeing and protection of all children in our care:
  • have appropriate registration with the Victorian Institute of Teaching; and
  • either have, be undertaking, or intend to undertake accreditation to teach Religious Education.
