Role Description/Criteria
If you have a passion for STEM and are seeking to work as part of a collaborative school team that is focused on bringing out the best in their students and each other, and knows that what you are doing is going to make a positive difference to those you teach, we would love to hear from you.
We require a full time Specialist STEM teacher. Working with each grade (P-6) for approximately 1 hour per week in a dedicated STEM Learning Space.
In supporting you within a team setting, we provide the following:
- A specialist team leader to help you
- One staff meeting per week
- 5 hours professional practice time per week

Applicants should be able to:(Requirements)
- Deliver high quality instruction in STEM, utilising innovative teaching methods and hands-on activities to foster learner engagement and understanding.
- Develop and design engaging STEM learning opportunities in an authentic context.
- Be familiar with or interested in the knowledge rich approach when developing a STEM curriculum.
- Work collaboratively with the inquiry leader to prepare learning experiences that support the learning in the classrooms
- Align STEM learning opportunities against the Victorian Curriculum standards, particularly the areas of Science, Technologies and Maths
- Incorporate technology tools and resources into STEM lessons to enhance learning experiences and develop student’s digital literacy skills
- Promote cybersafety initiatives at the school
- Differentiate the learning experiences to enable all students to experience success in their learning.
- Use purposeful assessment that provides data to drive and plan further teaching
- Willingness to facilitate student’s participation in the ³ÉÈËÍ·Ìõ STEM MAD exhibition
- Work in partnership with the wider school community to promote further learning opportunities and engagement.
