Role Description/Criteria

The Literacy Leader will be a leader who enhances the culture of the school through clear communication and positive relationships.

The successful candidate will lead in partnership with the Principal and Leadership Team to fulfill the vision of the school. As a leader in our school, the Literacy Leader develops respectful, collaborative relationships through engaged and purposeful learning that contributes to confident, risk-taking, and reflective learners who strive for excellence.

This is an ongoing position, the Literacy Leader role will be offered as a two-year contract and attracts POL level 2..

This position requires the successful candidate to be a member of St Michael's School Improvement Team.

We are seeking a Leader who is committed to leading in a faith community with Christ at its centre. We seek a leader who is passionate about their own and others' learning and who is able to inspire others to be lifelong learners. The successful applicant needs to demonstrate a range of dispositions particularly being reflective, resilient, courageous, and just. We seek a leader who has determination, works well within a team, values success, communicates well, and is organised. Importantly we seek a leader who can acknowledge the skills they do have and is prepared to develop those they find challenging.

We require a leader who has a passion for learning, is committed to a child-centered environment, and to implementing a rich and rewarding curriculum that caters to students from diverse backgrounds.

Special Requirement

  • hold current VIT registration
  • accreditation to teach Religious Education
  • recent experience and success in a leadership role
  • a strong commitment to the safety and wellbeing of children
  • post-graduate qualifications are desirable
